Many Ways to Give

Thank you for considering a gift to JTS. Your support is an integral part of our students’ success every year and ensures the Jewish Future.

There are many ways to support JTS, including cash gifts, gifts of appreciated stock, IRA rollovers, and planned gifts from your estate. Let us know how we can help you meet both your giving and financial goals.

Credit Card, Check, or ACH Transfer

Give by credit card or ACH Transfer via our secure online giving form. Call Dana Hartman at 212-678-8866 to make a credit card gift over the phone.

Gifts made by check should be payable to JTS and mailed to:

The Jewish Theological Seminary
Development Department
3080 Broadway
New York, NY 10027

Wire Transfer

To receive the wire transfer instructions, please contact Dana Hartman at dahartman@jtsa.edu or 212-678-8866.

ACH transfers can also be completed through the secure online giving form by selecting Bank Transfer as the payment method.

Stocks and Securities

Donating publicly traded, long-term appreciated stock is often more advantageous tax-wise than selling the stock. With a gift of shares of stock, you may be able to:

  • Take a charitable tax deduction equal to the market value of the stock.
  • Avoid paying any capital gains tax.
  • Remove the value of the stock from your taxable estate.

A gift of stocks or securities to JTS can be arranged via electronic transfer or by receipt of stock certificates. Please contact Dana Hartman at dahartman@jtsa.edu or 212-678-8866 to receive the Stock and Securities Transfer instructions.

IRA Charitable Rollovers

Make a difference today and save on taxes. It’s possible when you support JTS through your Individual Retirement Account (IRA), if you qualify and take the appropriate steps by December 31.

Planned Giving

With a planned gift, you can support JTS’s efforts to provide student financial aid, hire the highest quality professors, enhance the Library’s collection, and provide state-of-the-art facilities.

Employer Matching Gifts

Many employers sponsor programs that match charitable contributions made by their employees, allowing you to double or even triple the value of your gift. Talk to a member of your human resources office to see if your contribution qualifies.
