With Rabbi Eliezer Diamond, PhD, Rabbi Judah Nadich Associate Professor of Talmud and Rabbinics, JTS

What is the relationship between our level of generosity and our beliefs, our attitudes, and our actions? For Rav Eliyahu Dessler (1892–1953, Belarus/England/Israel), love, faith, empathy, and social bonding are consequences of generosity—not its causes. In this session, we discuss Rav Dessler’s insights and his vision for living meaningfully.

This session is from JTS’s forthcoming turnkey curriculum, Rupture and Resilience: Jewish Responses to Crisis.

Part of the Global Day of Jewish Learning.

Held annually since 2010, the Global Day of Jewish Learning offers hundreds of communities the opportunity for a day of intercontinental Jewish learning, powered by Limmud.
