As assistant dean of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies, Orlea Miller provides academic advising and general guidance to students in List College and the Gershon Kekst Graduate School. Dean Miller also serves as director of List College’s Fellowship in Jewish Social Entrepreneurship and co-facilitates List 101 for first-year students.

Dean Miller graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts and double majored in the Comparative Study of Religion and Sociology. This academic path sparked her interest in the interplay between the way individuals use religion to form personal identity within and among a larger community. She then earned her MA from The William Davidson School here at JTS with a master’s in Jewish Education on the Educational Leadership track.

Prior to joining JTS, Dean Miller worked at the Leffell School (formerly Schechter Westchester) as the community engagement and education associate and at Gann Academy as the Jewish Life associate, focusing on experiential education.
