Pay Rate: $17.55 per Hour

Description of the Position:

The Porter is primarily responsible for providing maintenance support to the JTS community. Must have competence in safe use of general cleaning equipment and in safe handling of cleaning materials. Generally responsible for the cleaning of the residence hall, guest rooms, and associated areas and includes garbage removal.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Follows verbal and written instructions and guidelines as required by Maintenance supervisory staff or Director of Operations.
  • Maintains cleanliness throughout areas assigned to.
  • Prepares or assists in preparation for events, including equipment setup, as required by Maintenance supervisory staff.
  • Has basic understanding of rules and principles regarding student activities, classrooms, and living areas.
  • Is able to lift a minimum weight of 40 pounds.
  • Assists A and B Mechanics as required by Maintenance supervisory staff.
  • Assists in snow removal as required by Maintenance supervisory staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Maintenance supervisory staff or Senior Director of Operations.
