Pacific Southwest Region’s Sukkah Event 2025
Posted on Nov 20, 2025
On October 10, 2025, WLCJ’s Pacific Southwest (PSW) region held our annual Sukkot event, a brunch in the sukkah at Temple Ramat Zion in Northridge, CA. PSW Region has held this event for the past thirty years, and it’s always a highlight. This year the event was chaired by Carol Maller, a past PSW president, and a member of the sisterhood of Temple Ramat Zion (TRZ). She was helped not only by a PSW committee, but by many members of TRZ’s sisterhood as well. It was a full house with more than fifty women sharing the holiday. The group enjoyed a lovely brunch and music by PSW Ruach Revelers, and a beautiful D’var Torah and question-and-answer session with TRZ’s Rabbi Sela. We had an opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones. Our region president Gina Seeman presided over the event. A special thanks to Carol and her committee, and the women of TRZ’s sisterhood for providing a wonderful brunch and program.
A quick historical note: PSW has been celebrating Sukkot in the sukkah since 1995. For 25 years, we held our event in the sukkah at the University of Judaism, later known as the American Jewish University. Covid led us to missing a couple of years, and then the sale of the AJU property prompted the need for a new location. Rabbi Sela and Temple Ramat Zion’s sisterhood welcomed us to their shul’s sukkah, which has been our Sukkot home now for the last three years.
