JTS Board of Trustees Elects New Members

NEW YORK, NY – The Board of Trustees of The Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) has elected two new members: Robbie Cohen-Millstein and Molly Levinson. 

“At an exciting moment of growth and transformation for JTS, I am looking forward to working with our two newest board members, Mr. Cohen-Millstein and Ms. Levinson,” said Chancellor Shuly Rubin Schwartz. “I have known Robbie since his time as an undergraduate at List College, and his return to JTS in this capacity brings me special joy. And I know that Molly’s communications prowess will be a valuable addition to the skills and talents of our current board.” 

“After recently completing our 21st Century Campus renovation and officially inaugurating Chancellor Shuly Rubin Schwartz, we are thrilled to be bringing on two new Board of Trustees members, whose expertise will help guide JTS at a pivotal moment for the institution,” said Alan Levine, chair of the board. “Mr. Cohen-Millstein and Ms. Levinson’s experience and backgrounds will enrich the diverse group of professionals and lay leaders that currently sit on our board.” 

Robbie Cohen-Millstein is the principal broker of The Millstein Group, a boutique real estate firm in New York City. Mr. Cohen-Millstein is a graduate of the Columbia University / List College Joint Program, concentrating in Modern Jewish Studies (JTS) and Women’s and Gender Studies (Columbia). After graduation, he pursued graduate work at the New School for Social Research in Clinical Psychology before transitioning to the world of residential real estate. 

Molly Levinson, founder and CEO of The Levinson Group (TLG), is a strategic advisor to influential leaders and businesses on reputational and brand issues at the intersection of media, policy, and the law. Ms. Levinson also serves as an advisor on major social impact and public interest engagement campaigns, including the successful effort to achieve Equal Pay for the US Women’s National Team, numerous women’s sports leagues, teams, athletes, and advocates; multiple global efforts on behalf of journalists and journalism including assisting dozens of Afghan journalists to flee the Taliban; and efforts to free Americans detained or held hostage outside the United States. Ms. Levinson’s expertise in developing and implementing policy and communications strategies is rooted in her experience at the most senior levels of news. An Emmy award–winning producer, she served as political director at CNN and CBS. Ms. Levinson serves on the Board of Advisors for the Fallen Journalists Memorial Foundation, the Board of Trustees for Sixth & I synagogue, and the Network for Victim Recovery of DC. She graduated cum laude from Wellesley College.
