JTS Appoints Skilled Organizational Strategist as Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance

October 7, 2020 — The Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS), one of the worlds preeminent centers of Jewish higher education, is proud to announce that Clare Peeters has joined the staff as Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance. In this role, she will lead the business functions of JTS and oversee the areas of human resources, finance, facilities management, information technology, and legal affairs.  

Ms. Peeters brings a wealth of experience in implementing strategic financial and operational processes that allow complex organizations to flourish and grow. Prior to this role, she had a long and successful career in the business world. She worked for many years at the Perseus Books Group, where she was vice president of business operations and later of corporate strategy and business development. Most recently, she held positions including chief operating officer and vice president for corporate development at Axel Johnson, Inc., which owns and operates a diverse portfolio of companies. Ms. Peeters also volunteers her time to serve on the boards of the Natural Areas Conservancy and the Harvard Business School Club of New York City, where she is executive vice president and until recently was co-vice president for social enterprise. She earned both BA and MBA degrees at Harvard.
