Dedication of the Cantor Nancy Abramson Green Room

April 28, 2025

Last week, alumni, friends, family, and beloved colleagues came together to celebrate and honor Cantor Nancy Abramson. In a special tribute, the Green Room of the auditorium was dedicated in recognition of her years of dedicated leadership as the longtime director of the H. L. Miller Cantorial School.

The day began with a special minhah service in the Women’s League Seminary Synagogue, led by Cantor Abramson herself. Those present, both in person and on Zoom, were deeply moved by her beautiful voice while leading the prayers.

Following the service, guests gathered in the newly dedicated Green Room — the special preparatory space behind the auditorium stage. The dedication ceremony opened with remarks from Chancellor Schwartz, followed by Dean of the Division of Religious Leadership Rabbi Ayelet Cohen, and Cantor Abramson’s successor, the current director, Cantor Rabbi Shoshi Levin Goldberg.

After the dedication, attendees listened to the JTS student choir sing a beautiful version of Sim Shalom.
