Explore ceramics, scribal arts/calligraphy, poetry, and music from some of our talented students!
Rachel Binderman, Ceramicist

Rachel (JTS/Barnard ‘26) began ceramics to explore identity beyond academics and quickly fell in love with the art and community at Supermud Pottery. This past summer, they deepened their practice, blending ceramics with passions like Reproductive Justice and Jewish art. At JTS, classes with Professor Landman and Dean Perten further connected art with learning. Interested in a piece? Email rbb2148@barnard.edu.
Charlie Feuerman, Scribal Arts/Calligrapher

Charlie (JTS/GS ‘26) was apprenticing for a Sofer this summer, learning the art of repairing and maintaining Torah scrolls. Additionally, he hopes to produce a bounty of Jewish art and is currently working on a couple commissions! Email Charlie at Charlie.feuerman@columbia.edu if you want to create a beautiful custom gift or are in need of a kosher mezuzah scroll.
Clara Goldberg, Poet
Read her poem, “In a Hotel in Krakow”

Clara (JTS/Barnard ‘26) is studying English, Creative Writing, and Jewish History. She has spent the last year and a half interning at the YIVO Institute for Jewish Researching, working in the photo archives and helping create the first comprehensive map of pre-war shtetls. Her work at YIVO drove her to participate in the spring break Poland trip with the Kraft Center, which inspired her poem.
