In observance of Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene and Jewish Theological Seminary present a reading of the inspiring play Der Nes in Geto (The Miracle in the Warsaw Ghetto) which was written and produced in New York in the autumn of 1944, just 18 months after the historic Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. This play brought a ray of hope to audiences who helplessly read what little news was available about the unfolding tragedy and desperately hoped that the relatives in Europe that they had not heard from in years were safe. This is the story of the brave Jewish women and men who fought against all odds, beginning on the eve of Passover, with the message “We Are Here!”
