Miracles, Light, and Mysticism: Hasidic Reflections on Hanukkah

Join JTS for a free webinar for rabbis designed to inspire you in your preparation of Hanukkah derashot and teaching this year. This program is offered in collaboration with the Rabbinical Assembly.

Wednesday, December 11, 12:00 p.m.–1:15 p.m. Eastern Time

This webinar is presented by Dr. Eitan Fishbane.

According to hasidic mystics from R. Levi Yitzhak of Berdichev to the Sefat Emet and beyond, miracles may be explained as an eruption of the divine in the world and within our spiritual consciousness. In teaching about Hanukah, they incorporated this idea into a quest for God as a Being or a Presence of light. In this webinar, we will explore the spiritual dynamics embedded in this nexus of Hanukkah, light, miracles, and the life of faith.
