Join us for a books symposium with Dr. Leore Sachs-Shmueli, Senior Lecturer, Bar Ilan University, and
author of Sacred Emotions: Fear of Sin in Early Hasidism, and Dr. Eli Rubin, contributing editor at Chabad.org and author of Kabbalah and the Rupture of Modernity: An Existential History of Chabad Hasidism. They will be in conversation with Dr. Eitan Fishbane, JTS Professor of Jewish Thought & Mysticism. His books include: The Art of Mystical Narrative: A Poetics of the Zohar (Oxford University Press) and Shabbat in Hasidic Thought: Sacred Time and Mystical Consciousness (forthcoming), among others.
With attention to the inner spiritual and psychological life of the person and the relationship of that existence to Divine Being, the authors will discuss their respective new books, both published by Stanford
University Press.
