Opening Lecture

“The Ethical Challenges of Food Production and the Next Generation” with Dr. David Kraemer, Joseph J. and Dora Abbell Librarian and Professor of Talmud and Rabbinics, JTS.

Food production (including packaging and delivery) produces more greenhouse gasses than virtually any other human activity. Those gasses will endanger the world our grandchildren inherit in ways that could not previously have been imagined. From a Jewish perspective, what is our ethical obligation to our grandchildren and to their grandchildren? Professor Kraemer will share Jewish teachings that help us answer this question.

The JTS lecture will be preceded by a class with a local clergy member.

Cost

$36 per person for the six weeks of courses and lectures.
