The List College admissions review process is need-blind. Financial need or ability to pay plays no part in application review, and our team is dedicated to working transparently with each student to understand cost and available aid. No applicant should hesitate to apply because of financial concerns.

Applicants seeking aid of any kind are required to submit documentation of financial need as part of the admission process. Financial aid applications are processed after all admission decisions have been made. Applicants must apply for aid using the processes outlined below.

Apply for Need-Based Financial Aid

Instructions for applying for need-based aid can be found on our About Financial Aid page

Types of Institutional Aid

  • Need-based support is provided based on your family’s financial needs. For students in the Joint Program with Columbia and List College, need-based support is processed by the JTS Financial Aid Office. For students in the Double Degree Program with Barnard College, need-based support is processed by the Barnard College Financial Aid Office.
  • Merit-based scholarships are determined by your academic achievement and community involvement. JTS merit-based scholarships are awarded by the List College Fellowship Committee at the time of admission. All admitted students are considered for merit-based scholarships; no additional application is required.
  • For students applying for institutional need-based support, your financial aid package may include a combination of both need-based and academic scholarships.

Calculating Need-Based Aid

Using the information that you provide on the FAFSA, CSS Profile, and other supporting documentation, if applicable, we will calculate your financial need. List College provides generous four-year financial support for all students who are eligible. Support can be comprised of institutional grants, scholarships, federal student loans, or a combination of the aforementioned. JTS also offers List College families a no-interest payment plan.
