Relating to the Other
Join JTS scholars as they explore Jewish attitudes toward members of different faiths as well as the marginalized within our own communities. Enjoy university-level instruction and stimulating discussions in sessions that ask: How has the Jewish experience of marginalization informed the way in which we relate to other marginalized populations? What is our obligation to those we perceive as different? How have Jews challenged the norms of the community from within?
A celebration of adult Jewish learning featuring JTS’s renowned faculty:
- Dr. Benjamin Gampel, Dina and Eli Field Family Chair in Jewish History
- Dr. Barbara Mann, Simon H. Fabin Associate Professor of Jewish Literature
- Rabbi Daniel Nevins, Pearl Resnick Dean of The Rabbinical School and dean of the Division of Religious Leadership
- Dr. Benjamin Sommer, Professor of Bible and Ancient Semitic Languages
