As associate dean of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies, Jonathan Lerner provides academic advising and general guidance to students in List College and the Gershon Kekst Graduate School. He also facilitates List College Senior Seminar, serves as director of List College’s Fellowship in Jewish Social Entrepreneurship and of the Graduate School’s Jewish Professional Leadership (MA-MSW) Program, administers various student awards and grants, and serves as a liaison to Columbia University School of General Studies.
Dean Lerner earned his BA (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from Brandeis University, where he majored in Psychology and minored in Hebrew Language & Literature, his JD (cum laude) from St. John’s University School of Law, and his MSW from Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University.
Prior to joining JTS, Dean Lerner practiced law for several years at a boutique trusts and estates firm, and later, served as a social worker in a number of behavioral health and Jewish communal settings.
