Bonnie Epstein

Vice Chancellor and Chief Development Officer

As vice chancellor and chief development officer, Bonnie Epstein leads the team in cultivating and soliciting major gifts and is responsible for all operating areas of development, including regional fund-raising, special events, grants, Torah Fund, planned giving, alumni affairs, and direct mail. Vice Chancellor Epstein believes that JTS’s donors are our steadfast partners in building the future of American Judaism. She loves the passion, vision, and many talents that they lend to JTS as lay leaders and philanthropists; she also enjoys collaborating with them to support our students and nurture the JTS community.

Since joining the JTS team in 2006, Bonnie has served as assistant director for the Long Island region, director for the Long Island region, national director of development, and most recently as executive director of development, a role in which she was responsible for strategy, organization, and management of our annual campaign. She has been instrumental in creating a culture of collaboration and teamwork, and in elevating the focus toward major gifts fund-raising.

Bonnie has previously served as the director of Senior Services at the Sid Jacobson JCC in East Hills, NY, and has held numerous volunteer executive board positions on the Nassau County, New York Region of Hadassah. In her previous career, Bonnie worked for ABC News, finishing as an associate producer for the television newsmagazine 20/20. She is a graduate of the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
