Newsmith Turkey Chili Recipe

Posted on

We love to make this chili recipe in Newsmith (the new residence hall) and share it with all of our List College friends. There aren’t specific measurement amounts because we rely primarily on vibes and encourage you to do the same. Enjoy!

1 white onion
Neutral oil
1-2 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb. ground turkey
Red pepper Flakes
1 can of crushed tomatoes
1 can black beans
1 can pinto beans
Cocoa powder
Red pepper flakes
1 can corn

Chop up an onion and saute it in oil over medium heat. When the onions are translucent, add garlic and cook for a few more minutes. Remove the onions and garlic from the pan. Add the turkey and brown it. Return the onion and garlic to the pan. Add crushed tomatoes, one cup or so of water, black beans, pinto beans, a few spoonfuls of cocoa powder, salt, cumin, red pepper flakes, and a little bit of paprika. Mix. Taste it and see if it needs more of something. If so, add. Cook on medium/low for 45 minutes or so. Add corn if you want. Serve with avocado.
