Understanding Judaism through the Lens of Islam

THE FIELD FAMILY LECTURE

With Dr. David C. Kraemer, Joseph J. and Dora Abbell Librarian and Professor of Talmud and Rabbinics

Professor Kraemer will uncover the many similarities that exist between Judaism and Islam, in many respects its closest “sibling,” being a religion of law based both upon Judaism and other inherited near eastern traditions. By studying examples of Islamic parallels with Judaism, we will gain a better understanding of Jewish concepts and beliefs.
