AN ONLINE MINI-COURSE WITH JTS

Three Tuesdays
November 19, 26; December 3, 2019
12:00-1:00 p.m. ET

With Rabbi Julia Andelman, Director of Community Engagement, JTS

Power dynamics in the arena of gender and sexual relations are now at the forefront of public discourse. But many issues of the #metoo era—women’s agency over their own bodies, the nature of consent, the believability of alleged victims, the after-effects of sexual violation, and more—were addressed both implicitly and explicitly by the Rabbis and codified into the Jewish textual tradition that we have inherited. In this course, we will examine select Talmudic texts and consider their contemporary resonance.

Cost: $60

Recordings will be available for those unable to attend live.
