Ruth Messinger is the inaugural Finkelstein Institute Social Justice Fellow at JTS. A renowned advocate and social change visionary, she served as the president of the American Jewish World Service and was previously a New York City Council member and Manhattan Borough president. She continues her work on behalf of AJWS as global ambassador, and as social justice activist-in-residence at JCC Manhattan.
