Edward Feld serves as rabbi-in-residence at The
Rabbi Feld is an important interpreter of contemporary Jewish thought, as well as being a popular teacher. His book, Spirit of Renewal: Faith After the Holocaust (Jewish Lights), was a finalist for the Benjamin Franklin Award and has been reissued in paperback. He has also written on theology, medical ethics, and halakhic issues and is currently the chief editor of the new Rabbinical Assembly High Holiday Mahzor. His forthcoming work, The Book of Revolutions, is a historical and philosophical presentation of biblical law.
Rabbi Feld is married to Merle Feld, herself a distinguished poet, playwright, and educator who directs the Rabbinic Writing Institute; together Merle and Eddie offer text study and reflective writing retreats for rabbis in the field across the denominations. They are the parents of Lisa and Uri, both of whom now work in the Jewish community. Eddie is an amateur photographer and has recently taken up the cello. He and Merle reside in
