A Webinar for Rabbis in Preparation for the High Holidays

Thursday, August 8, 2019
12 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.

Dr. Richard N. Haass, president, Council on Foreign Relations
in conversation with
Rabbi Julia Andelman, Director of Community Engagement, JTS

How do Jewish values suggest we should engage with our changing world? Globalization and international involvement are increasingly being called into question in modern democracies. What impact does this have on the Jewish community in America, Israel, and the rest of the world?

This webinar is designed to help rabbis develop High Holiday sermons on the state of the world that discuss these issues through the lenses of ethical imperatives and immediate relevance to our congregants. Dr. Haass will discuss the special leadership role the United States can play and why international relations–and the interconnectedness of people around the world–are critically important for the Jewish community and beyond.
