Professor Ingrid Mattson, past-president of the Islamic Society of North America, director of the Macdonald Center for the Study of Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations, and professor of Islamic Studies, Hartford Seminary, speaks on Muslim traditions on mourning. From Our Better Angels: Resources for the Commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 Our Better Angels, was a three part series exploring Jewish, Christian, and Muslim Traditions on Tragedy, Mourning, and Healing. The Jewish Theological Seminary and Union Theological Seminary cosponsored three evenings of learning and music at St. Paul’s Chapel (right next to Ground Zero) in New York City. Each evening explored Jewish, Christian, and Muslim traditions on Tragedy, Mourning, and Healing, respectively. Each event was concluded by a live musical performance.
