Granting Permission to Benefit From Electricity on the SabbathThe Ashkenazic Rabbinical Court is informing the Jews of Jerusalem that after much debate and discussion they have reached the following conclusion concerning the use of electricity during the Sabbath. When the electrical company is owned by non-Jews, and the electricity has been turned on before the Sabbath, it is permissible for Jews to benefit from its use over the Sabbath.
