Aval Anahnu Va’avotenu Hatanu: Atoning for the Sins of Prior Generations?

From the Vidui to the 13 Attributes, our liturgy pushes us to think about not only our own wrongdoing, but also the sins of those who preceded us. Yet discussions of historical wrongdoing often lead to endless incriminations, resentment and defensiveness. How can obligations regarding the transgressions of our predecessors offer us a healthy frame to work toward healing both personal and communal historical wrongs?

Join JTS for a free webinar for rabbis designed to inspire you in your preparation of Yom Kippur derashot and teaching this year. This program is offered in collaboration with the Rabbinical Assembly.

Tuesday, September 10, 12:00 p.m.–1.15 p.m. Eastern Time

This webinar is presented by Rabbi Jan Uhrbach.
