Tekes Ma’avar: Exploring Culture and Democracy
An ongoing tradition at B’nai Jeshurun, this moving ceremony marks the transition between Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s Remembrance Day, and Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day. After the ceremony we invite you to commemorate this special time with us through song, conversation, learning, food, and more. Three breakout study sessions will be offered, one of which will be co-led by Katie Greenberg, a student of The Rabbinical School of JTS. The evening will conclude with an Israeli singalong and a dessert reception.
