An Online Mini-Course with Dr. Robert Harris
Tuesdays February 23, March 2, 9, 16, 23, April 6; 7:00-9:00 p.m. ET
This course will introduce you to both “Jeremiah, the Book” and “Jeremiah, the prophet.” We will assess the entirety of the book in a general way, but primarily focus on selected key texts. The class will situate both the prophet and the book in their ancient contexts and employ a variety of methodologies—from medieval commentary to modern scholarship—to study Scripture as a work of literature. We will focus primarily on the religious issues that Jeremiah posed for ancient Israel, but also consider the significance the figure of Jeremiah holds for our lives in a pandemic world.
Cost
$180 for six sessions.
Dr. Robert Harris is professor of Bible and Ancient Semitic Languages.
