A Play Inspired by the Book of Exodus

Thursday, March 8, 2018, 7:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m.

Exodus: Threshold is a play inspired by the moment in the book of Exodus when the Israelites had to choose between the certainty of servitude in Egypt and the uncertainty of a journey through wilderness to an unseen “promised land.”

Created in collaboration by JTS and Exodus Transitional Community, the play features six performers weaving together material generated over six months of conversation in response to themes of freedom, cautiousness, persecution and success. Through personal narratives and creative story-telling, performers share experiences of this initial moment of transition and ask audiences to consider: Why do we take the first step into the unknown? What pushes us forward? What pulls us back? And what do we potentially leave behind?

Tickets are free but registration is required.
