Distance Learning Welcome Letter

Congratulations! You have successfully enrolled in a Distance Learning Course at The Jewish Theological Seminary. Now what? Following these easy steps will set you up and answer your questions about navigating and participating in your Distance Learning Course.

1. Please read the Preparatory Information for Distance Learning Courses. This will give you some basic background information on Blackboard and online learning here at JTS.
2. Login to Blackboard: jts.blackboard.com.
3. Familiarize yourself with the My Courses Page.
4. Sign into your blackboard account  regularly to check for announcements. Don't forget to go through the weekly syllabus and assignments.
5. Check out the readings list for all of our distance learning courses.
6. Click around the Distance Learning Home Page for lots of information.
7. See also the Preparing Yourself to Learn Online page, with helpful information about being a successful student.
8. Don't forget to check out all of our student Blackboard How Tos and How to Navigate This Course for answers to all your blackboard questions.
