Information for Parents

At The Jewish Theological Seminary, your child will become part of a community dedicated to their educational, spiritual, and physical well-being. Their journey will be advanced by educators, administrators, and classmates focused on their success and, of course, your support and guidance.

Our students and alumni are characterized by their dedication, passion, energy, and determination. If your son or daughter is considering JTS for undergraduate or graduate studies, you can learn more about our programs by browsing admissions information.

At JTS, safety is a top priority. All of JTS's buildings and residence halls feature twenty-four-hour security personnel, and our security team is in constant contact with the New York Police Department and Columbia University's security force to ensure all relevant information is up to date.

Parents of new students can read our Transitions: A Guide for the Families of First-Year List College Students (a helpful resource for all new students).

All parents can check the list of Public Lectures and Conferences for campus programs that interest you. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at campus events and celebrations.
