Full-Time MA Students: Policies and Requirements

Full-time status is defined as taking 12 credits or more per semester. Students may receive a merit-based fellowship that covers tuition; however, all fees are the sole responsibility of the student. You will be responsible for all student fees. If you do not pay the fees on time, you will not be able to register the following semester. You can find a more in-depth explanation of this on the Registrar webpage.

The fellowship does not cover fines for late registration or late-return penalties from The Library. Your fellowship will be adjusted accordingly if you do not attend JTS as a full-time student. Please consult the academic calendar posted on the JTS website for deadlines regarding important dates (registration, add/drop, and withdrawal from courses).

The following policies apply:

  • Upon completion of his/her studies at JTS, the student is expected to work in a Jewish educational setting for one year for each year awarded a fellowship, for a maximum of three years.
  • All information about any other funding received for the period of the fellowship should be reported to the Dean's Office. The Davidson School reserves the right to adjust the amount of the award based upon other grants you may receive.
  • A yearly extension of the fellowship will be granted for a maximum of two years beyond the first year, provided funds are available and students are in good academic standing for each semester they are enrolled at The Davidson School. Information regarding specific grade requirements, academic standing, and academic probation is posted in the JTS Academic Bulletin.
