How do I know if my assigned readings are on reserve?

Professors will inform you at the beginning of the semester if they have placed materials on reserve. If you are unsure whether an item is on reserve, please check  ALEPH.

How do I find the call number for a reserve reading?

Call numbers for a reserve readings may be found in  ALEPH. Articles not on Blackboard and course packs are listed by professor's name and course number at the circulation desk.

Where can I find reserve readings?

Reserve readings may be found at the circulation desk. 

How do I check out reserve readings?

Present your ID and the item's call number to the circulation-desk staff. If you are requesting an article not on Blackboard, please know the article's title and the course number.

How many reserve readings may I check out at a time?

You may check out up to three reserve readings at one time.

May reserve readings be removed from The Library?

Reserve readings may be removed from The Library once they are desensitized by the circulation staff.

For how long may reserve readings be checked out?

A reserve reading may be checked out for two hours at a time. It can be renewed for an additional two hours if no one else has requested it.

May reserve readings be checked out overnight or over the weekend?

Reserve readings may be checked out overnight within two hours of Library closing. They are due back by 9:00 a.m. the next day on weekdays and by noon on Sundays.

What are the fines on reserve readings?

Late reserve readings  are fined at $1/hour. There is no grace period.
