Old Bethpage, New York
Major: Undecided (JTS), French and Francophone Studies (Columbia) Interests: Running, Zumba, watching bad comedy shows
Extracurricular/Cocurricular Activities: I am involved with Greek life on Columbia's campus. My sorority is Sigma Delta Tau. I am also a member of Musical Mentoring, which brings together Columbia students to give instrumental lessons at a local elementary and middle school, and will be a counselor for JustCity: A Precollege Program in Jewish Social Justice at JTS this summer.
Three Favorite Things About List College: First, the community-whenever I walk onto campus or into my dorm, I am instantly welcomed by my friends and peers who share the Jewish values that I hold. I never feel out of place. Second, the academics-since I never had a formal Jewish education in my youth, I feel like I'm making up for lost time. Third, the food-when I walk into the cafeteria at JTS, I know I'm in for a treat.
Three Favorite Things About Living in New York City: First, the abundance. Everything I could ever want or need is probably just a few blocks away from campus. Second, the liveliness. Living in a city where there is always something going on is perfect for college students. Third, again, the food. I love to leave the Morningside Heights bubble and explore different restaurants and cafes all around Manhattan.
Best Class at List College: On Holiness with Professor Amy Kalmanofsky. This class pushed me to find sacred moments throughout my religious, spiritual, and everyday life, and gave me the knowledge to define what is important to me. My classmates and I completed projects on places that were holy around the city, giving us a chance to see what NYC has to offer. Also, Professor Kalmanofsky made all the students feel comfortable during their first semester at JTS.
One day I want to . . . move to a French-speaking country.
