Applying for Admission

The Committee on Admissions meets in December and February. Entrance examinations consist of an individual interview and tests aimed at determining music aptitude and levels of Hebraic and musical knowledge. The applicant's potential for vocal performance is assessed at an audition. For this meeting, candidates are required to prepare two musical selections including one prayer setting from the Jewish liturgy and one secular art song. The liturgical selection should be sung a cappella and the art song should be prepared for piano accompaniment.

All inquires regarding admission and requests for applications should be addressed to the director of the H. L. Miller Cantorial School and College of Jewish Music. The material necessary for application must be submitted by November 1, for December auditions, and by January 16, for February auditions.
