About Admissions Campus Life Academics Library Administration Conservative Judaism
The subject of mitzvah has always been a major focus of Jewish reflection. It has loomed large in my own mind ever since I ventured into adulthood.
I believe that discussion of what mitzvah means to us, and why, may prove of great importance to the vitality and direction of Conservative Judaism.
Our aim is to engage Conservative Jews in discussion of this issue. This Movement-wide attention to mitzvah will include an intensive program of learning and conversation that will be piloted throughout the year in each of the congregations led by members of my Rabbinic Cabinet. The pilot program will be carefully monitored and evaluated as it proceeds with an eye toward creating similar programs concerning mitzvah for other arms of the Movement.
On this site we will provide resources during the course of the year to assist you in the broader discussion about mitzvah. Please visit the site and let us know what you think.
