The Library

The Office of Student Life of The Jewish Theological Seminary is here to enhance and enrich the personal, social, educational, and religious growth of JTS students and to create a welcoming, student-centered environment.

The Student Life staff coordinates a wide variety of activities with an emphasis on creating community for students in each of the five JTS schools:

  • Albert A. List College of Jewish Studies
  • The Rabbinical School
  • H. L. Miller Cantorial School and College of Jewish Music
  • William Davidson Graduate School of Jewish Education
  • The Graduate School

The Student Life staff takes a personal interest in each individual. Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to drop by anytime for information about activities and life in New York City, to chat, or merely to relax. The Billie Rosenthal Rubinoff Center for Student Life on the second-floor of Unterberg is a great place to meet with other students, enjoy a snack, and/or study.

The Office of Student Life oversees the work of the Va’ad Gemilut Hasadim: Susan and Jack Rudin Center for Community Outreach and the JTS Israel Va'ad. The Jewish Life directors in the Residence Halls organize Jewish cultural and religious programming and serve as a resource for residents.

In addition, Student Life works closely with the student organizations on programming initiatives.
