The following is the list of items that residents may bring to the JTS residence halls in compliance with the JTS Fire and Personal Safety Policy and Room Furniture Policy. All JTS residents, whether current or incoming, must comply with these policies. JTS policies are designed with the community's safety and comfort in mind, and we thank you for your cooperation.
In addition to the furniture provided in all residence halls (see Room Furniture Policy), rooms in Mathilde Schecter Residence Hall (MSRH) are equipped with mirrors, small ceiling lights, and sinks. Goldsmith and Brush rooms have ceiling lights as well. JTS recommends that residents supply their own additional lighting, particularly in MSRH. All rooms come equipped with voice mail; answering machines are not recommended, because students may miss important information distributed to them by JTS administration over the voice mail system.
Please note: All appliances and electrical equipment must be UL-listed.
Residents can get creative with many of the items on this list. We encourage you to personalize your space to help make your room, suite, or apartment your home away from home. Absolute necessities are listed in bold print.
