The computer lab is a state-of-the-art computing facility dedicated to student computing at JTS. Located on the seventh floor of Kripke Tower, the lab is filled with public computing stations. Here, students may complete work for classes, do research, and communicate over the Internet. Not only do the computers feature the full range of English productivity software, but they also support bilingual word processing, with both a Hebrew-enabled version of Microsoft Word and the latest version of DavkaWriter. From these stations, students may access numerous resources provided by The Library, including the electronic versions of the Encyclopedia Judaica and the Oxford English Dictionary. When students have completed course work or have found research material, laser printing is available.
As soon as students arrive on the seventh floor they are greeted by a helpdesk technician. A student technician is on duty from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and Sundays. This technician provides support to students concerning both the public stations in the computer lab, as well as with their personal computers. The technician can be reached via phone at (212) 678-8901 (extension 8901). Contact a helpdesk technician
