This interdepartmental program offers the opportunity to study the development, structure, and content of the Jewish liturgy, along with complementary study in rabbinics, philosophy, history, or literature. Courses ranging from the Mahzor to piyyut to ritual theory enable students to pursue their individual interests. Relevant courses may also be taken at Columbia University and Union Theological Seminary.

Courses
The master of arts in Liturgy program requires thirty-nine graduate credits beyond the courses required of all students in The Graduate School. All MA candidates must take LTG 5031, Weekday Siddur. All other course selections must be approved by the student's adviser.
