Principal Bess Adler joined the Rebecca and Israel Ivry Prozdor High School in 2003. After coordinating the weeknight branch in Milburn, New Jersey, as well as holding the position of assistant principal, Bess was promoted to principal in 2005. A native of New Jersey, Bess spent a year in Israel in a high-school program in Pardes Hanna and then experienced an intensive Gadna program called Marva. Bess returned to Israel on aliyah at age eighteen, served in the Israel Defense Forces in the Golani Brigade, and earned her BA and teaching certificate from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She moved back to the United States in 1996 with her family and has taught in numerous Jewish schools as well as at Camp Ramah in Nyack, New York. Bess holds a master's degree in Jewish education from The Jewish Theological Seminary, and is studying towards a doctorate in Jewish education at the William Davidson Graduate School of Jewish Education of JTS. She is the vice president of NAACHHS, the North American Association of Community Hebrew High Schools.
