To Remember and to Rebuild
The Jewish Theological Seminary is pleased to host "Jewish University for a Day" in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Monmouth County.
Join JTS faculty Dr. David Fishman, Dr. David Kraemer, Dr. Marjorie Lehman, and local academics and rabbis for a day of study and conversation. These scholars bring their expertise, depth of knowledge, and extensive teaching experience to offer new and exciting perspectives on topics covering the breadth of Jewish history, religion, thought, and culture. "Jewish University for a Day" is made possible by the Hereld Institute for Jewish Studies of JTS, and held in cooperation with the Jewish Cultural Studies Program at Monmouth University; Congregation Kol Am in Freehold, New Jersey; and Marlboro Jewish Center in Marlboro, New Jersey.

Jewish Mysticism Through the Ages
Dr. Eitan Fishbane
Delving in to the spiritual heart of Judaism, this course will introduce students to some of the major themes, ideas, and texts of Jewish mysticism from its origins in Antiquity through the present day. We will study sources from the Zohar, the mystics of 16th century Tzfat, and Hasidism—devoting special attention to mystical ideas of God, prayer, and spiritual experience. All readings will be made available in an electronic coursepack.
