Rabbinic Development

Rabbinic Development at The Jewish Theological Seminary partners with rabbis in the field to offer continuing eduction, access to JTS resources, and continual study. Our rabbis are:

Rabbinic Training Institute

For the past twenty-four years, JTS has been offering the Rabbinic Training Institute (RTI) as a program of continuing rabbinic education for rabbis in the field. Each year at full capacity, RTI accommodates Conservative rabbis at a remote location for a week of professional and personal growth.

The insitute is intended to provide serious learning with world-renowned scholars, focus on practical skills in a developing rabbinate, and give an opportunity for small groups to gather in the evenings to discuss the spiritual issues encountered by a practicing rabbi.

The Legacy Heritage Rabbinic Enrichment Initiative

The Legacy Heritage Rabbinic Enrichment Initiative is a new program of continuing rabbinic education open to congregational rabbis who, after eight to fifteen years in the rabbinate, are in evolving positions of leadership and require further skills development.

The program is limited to eighteen rabbis. Read more and apply. Support for the Legacy Heritage Rabbinic Enrichment Initiative has been generously provided by the Legacy Heritage Fund Limited.
